Bey Inspired: Michael Jackson

Klaudia//June 26, 2012
When I was just starting out, my first producer used to make me listen to Michael Jackson’s live performance of “Who’s Loving You.” He would have me watch that for hours back to back to back.

What he wanted me to learn was his soul. You could hear his soul. And he was this little kid who hadn’t experienced love but he was a vessel. For whatever reason he could evoke more emotion than an adult. It was so raw and so pure. It was these little things that he did that were just swag. It’s something that’s God given.

Michael taught me that sometimes you have to forget technique, forget what you have on. If you feel silly, you have to go from the gut just let it go.

Michael Jackson changed me, and helped me to become the artist I am - thank you Michael.

Love always,
B

Bey Inspired: Timmy Kelly

Klaudia//June 20, 2012
The first time I met Timmy Kelly was in 2007, backstage at the Grammys. He was only 13 and he touched my heart with his voice and his love of music and life.

He is 18 now and he's just graduated high school - I'm so proud of him!

Timmy was born blind, and with cerebral palsy. But this never slowed him down - he has proven to everyone, that anything is possible if you believe in yourself and work hard.

In Philadelphia, he's known as the good luck charm to the Eagles and whenever he sings the National Anthem before a game they always win.

His strength and determination is an inspiration.

Timmy was just accepted to the Temple University's Boyer College of Music and Dance.

Congratulations Timmy!

Love,
B

Beyonce Reveals Meaning Behind Blue Ivy's Name

Klaudia//June 10, 2012
Beyonce has given away subtle deets behind her four-month-old daughter Blue Ivy’s name. Rumours have floated about for months now to why Bey and Jay chose the colour blue for their tots name. Taking a break from her mummy and wifey duties, the singer took to her website to upload a sweet poem that breaks down the mystery behind the unique name. "Water is colorless, shallow water appears to be the color of whatever lies underneath it" "But deep water is full of this scatted light, the purer the water the deeper the blue," a snippet of the poem reads. You can read the full poem below.

Beyoncé has paid tribute to the late Robin Gibb. The Bee Gees star passed away on Sunday (May 20) after a long battle with cancer. The news was greeted by a flurry of tributes from music stars and celebrities. Adding her thoughts about the iconic singer, Beyoncé wrote on her official website: "The Bee Gees were an early inspiration for me, Kelly and Michelle. "We loved their songwriting and beautiful harmonies. Recording their classic song, 'Emotion', was a special time for Destiny's Child. Sadly we lost Robin Gibb this week. My heart goes out to his brother Barry and the rest of his family." Destiny's Child released 'Emotion' as a single in 2001. Beyoncé Remembers Donna Summer

Klaudia//May 18, 2012
Donna Summer inspired a generation of female singers including Beyoncé. The pop superstar paid tribute to the late disco diva, who died at the age of 63, in an open letter on her website. “She was so much more than the queen of disco she became known for,” wrote B, who sampled Summers’ “Love to Love You Baby” on her 2004 hit “Naughty Girl.” Read her heartfelt words below.

"Donna Summer made music that moved me both emotionally and physically to get up and dance. You could always hear the deep passion in her voice. She was so much more than the queen of disco she became known for, she was an honest and gifted singer with flawless vocal talent. I’ve always been a huge fan and was honored to sample one of her songs. She touched many generations and will be so sadly missed.

My love goes out to her family during this difficult time.

Love,

Beyonce pens a letter to her mother for Mother’s Day

Klaudia//May 14, 2012
On Sunday, Beyonce was enjoying her first Mother’s Day as a mother. The 30-year-old, however, didn’t forget to thank her own mother for all she has done for her. The “Best Thing I Never Had” singer penned a heartfelt letter to her mom, Tina Knowles. She posted the handwritten letter on her website. “Dear Mama, “ she wrote. “Everything I am is because of you. You are the first voice that ever sang to me. At every turn you push me to be better. You teach me to be true to myself and the ones I love.” In the note, Beyonce says she appreciates her mother even more, now that she is a mom herself. “When I look into your eyes, I am so proud. Now that I’m a mother, I truly realize the sacrifices you made for us. My love for you goes beyond what I can say. Happy, Happy Mama’s Day,” she wrote, signing, “Love, Beyonce.”

Beyoncé wearing a necklace in tribute to Blue Ivy

Klaudia//May 3, 2012
She's waxed lyrical about the joys of motherhood, proving she's not too shy to wear her love of her daughter on her sleeve. But it appears that Beyoncé has found another way to express her devotion to her new baby- in jewelry form. The 30-year-old posted a picture of herself on Tumblr wearing a silver necklace spelling Blue. Showing only her neck and part of her chest, the photo obscured Beyoncé's face, but gave away her curly honey-blonde hair, and showed her wearing a smart jacket with a silver and white top underneath. The star wore several other simple necklaces, but the Blue piece took centre spot. Beyonce also posted another photo of her with a different necklace.

Beyonce Pays Respects To Dick Clark

Klaudia//April 20, 2012
Beyonce has joined in alongside her famous peers in paying last respects to the late American radio and television personality, Dick Clark. Clark died on April 18 at the age of 82, after succumbing to a heart attack.

"Thank you Dick Clark for all the times you touched my life.

You introduced a generation to rock & roll on American Bandstand and your New Year's Eve celebration brought people together through television.

You created so many opportunities for so many artists.

You will be sadly missed. -B"

Beyonce's First Tweet Causes Social Storm

Klaudia//April 14, 2012
Beyonce is the biggest gainer on this week's Billboard Social 50 chart, making a massive jump from No. 49 to claim the No. 17 spot after a frenzy of media activity and social buzz following the launch of the pop star's new Web presence. The Social 50 chart ranks the most popular artists on YouTube, Vevo, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, using a formula that blends weekly additions of friends/fans/followers along with weekly artist page views and weekly song plays. The launch of the Beyonce's official Web site ( beyonce.com) on April 5 sent the social world into a tizzy. Her new site -- powered in part by Tumblr -- was announced the same day courtesy of the diva's first Tweet ( @beyonce). Her Twitter account had previously been the most-followed account without a single Tweet, with nearly 4 million followers. While Beyonce has had the account for over five years, she never said a peep until last week. And when fans have been waiting that long -- you know it's going to cause a stir. Beyonce's site is ambitious for a Tumblr. Keeping in mind the visual emphasis that has made the platform so popular, the site features a photo-centric theme that is devoid of extraneous frills and side menus. A simple black arrow featuring a slide-out menu allows visitors to seamlessly navigate to Beyonce.com and the rest of her pages, which have all also been redesigned to fit the same easily digestable and visually appealing tone set by her Tumblr. The overhaul also prominently features links to Beyonce's social properties, streamlining the fan acquisition process which resulted in a 114% increase in fan acquisition over the previous week.

Beyoncé on Michelle Obama

Klaudia//April 13, 2012
Michelle,
is the ULTIMATE example of a truly strong African American woman.
She is a caring mother, she's a loving wife, while at the same time, she is the FIRST LADY!!!!
No matter the pressure, and the stress of being under the microscope - she's humble, loving, and sincere.
She builds and nurtures her family, while also looking out for so many millions in so many ways.
Michelle, thank you so much for every single thing that u do for us - I am proud to have my daughter grow up in a world where she has people like you, to look up to.
Love
Beyonce
